'The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk' Exhibition Comes to London

The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk exhibition finally hits the UK on 9th April at London's Barbican centre. I saw this fabulous show when it was on at the Brooklyn Museum in December and heartily recommend it to anyone who loves fashion, the art of couture construction and/or Madonna fans.
This retrospective takes in the French designer's influences from the street to clubs and his muses, and beautifully encases each aspect of his career in impeccably staged rooms. Of course, there is a lot of Madonna in there too - JPG's hand drawn illustrations of the 'Blonde Ambition' tour outfits he designed for her, and the candid polaroids of her fittings, are worth the entrance price alone.  But there is so, SO much more to this exhibition than the infamous conical bra corsets.

Book up early, put a decent chunk of time aside and check out the prodigious designer's innovative exhibition for yourself - getting up close with his couture work is an utter delight not to be missed. Check out the slideshow below for some of my pics from the exhibition when it was in New York.
