TIMBERLAND X YOU

Timberlands have always passed me by.  The classic American workboots they are best known for have become the staple footwear of off duty footballers, glamour models and made-by-TV pop groups before the stylists get their hands on them, and - much as I love a chunky boot - Tims are just not for me.

One thing that did catch my beady style eye recently, however, was their boat shoes.

Timberland is the latest brand to catch on to the personalisation trend and have just launched a customisable service whereby shoppers can create their own bespoke versions of the aforementioned boots and also some pretty frickin sweet deck shoes.

Available for both men and women at it's flagship stores or online, customers can rework various different shoe and boot types, choosing their own colours for materials, laces, rivets and soles - much like Nike ID, miadidas etc - and you can have them monogrammed too.  On the sizing front, styles are available in both regular and wide fittings as well as in half-sizes - something I wish more brands would reintroduce.
