Jelly Shoes Are Back - No, Really

Remember these?? I do, mainly because my mum wouldn't let me have them because she said plastic shoes were bad for my feet. Thanks to the runaway success of rubber shoe brands like Melissa coupled with the trend for all things 90s, jelly shoes are making a fashion comeback thanks to Juju.

The original Babe (chunky heel) and Maxi (flats) styles are available in the retro glitter, pearl and regular finishes, and in a mixture of pastels, brights and monochrome colours all over the shop from Topshop and New Look to Office and Urban Outfitters.  They've even taken a high fashion turn with a clear collaboration shoe for Margaret Howell, pictured above.

I've spotted loads of cool kids who are most likely pretty new to the jelly shoe phenomenon wearing them out and about but now I'm allowed them, I'm not sure I'm so keen. They're definitely a nice bit of nostalgia though for those of us who remember them the first time round.

Jeffrey Campbell Gets All 90s Spice Girls On Lazy Oaf's Ass

Jeffrey Campbell is on a mission. The super cool American shoe designer was, until fairly recently, only stocked in the US, but now he's popping up all over the UK with the latest outlet being our laidback, fun fashion friends over at Lazy Oaf.

Seven exclusive styles including these fab Spice Girl inspired stack sole trainers just like the 1990s Buffalo platforms Sporty, Baby and Geri used to wear, and some signature spike designs with an urban edge and a sky high wedge. Get em while you can, I don't think these will be hanging around for long. www.lazyoaf.co.uk

I Love My MTV - 90s Love for Pull & Bear Retro T-Shirts

The MTV logo is synonymous with 80s and 90s fashion. Since the revolutionary music channel's launch in 1981, the iconic motif has remained pretty much unchanged, although it has had a few little makeovers. Check these awesome ice-cream coloured tees, above, with a variety of classic MTV logos from Pull & Bear menswear (although these particular t-shirts are most definitely unisex).  Whilst over in their womenswear department, you'll find these hot little scoop neck vests featuring rockier neon and faded, vintage style zebra MTV logos.

At a totally reasonable £15.99 for the vests and £17.99 for the t-shirts, all available from www.pullandbear.com, I'm going for one of each of the T's to wear with my newly acquired Yo! MTV Raps Puma high tops, below, that I've been thinking about ever since I stupidly neglected to buy them when they first came out a few years back. Thank you eBay! I really do love my MTV.

New Gent Lacquered Swatch Watches - WANT

Hot drops over at Swatch with these New Gent Lacquered watches. Each one is unique as all the inner workings are made up of different coloured parts with the colours chosen at random every time.  These remind me so much of the late 1990's 'swiss made' designs I wore at school and lovingly fashioned screen guards for out of rubber bands during geography (sorry Mr. Williams). LOVE! £47.50 each over at www.swatch.com

Multi Coloured Crimps on the NYFW Catwalk

OK so I love me some Jeremy Scott, any FFYW reader will know that, though with his new collection for Autumn / Winter 2012/13 I found a lot of the looks a little flat and 'Cyber Dog'-slash-festival stall wear for my liking but OH the hair!  Check out the awesome crimped bleach blonde bobs with colour flashes to match the outfits from yesterday's New York Fashion Week show. Jezza always does give good hair... The 90s Bart Simpson prints and emoticon pieces were fun too as well as the multicoloured fur chubbies (I do hope it's faux though). Have a look.... HAUTE 1990's STYLE FROM DIOR COUTURE

Somewhat understandably given recent goings on at the Paris fashion house, Bill Gaytten's Fall 2011 Haute Couture collection for Christian Dior was a bit of a mish mash of styles and colours pillaged from across the decades which, whilst not hanging together well as a collection for me, demonstrated some flashes of absolute brilliance.

Who would have thought of elevating 1990's leisurewear patterns to the ultimate luxe level?

Fresh, fitted and fun to relaxed glamour and dreamily flirty, the colour palette ran the spectrum from ice cream parlour pastels to earthy autumnal riches with hints of metallics.

Apparently Mr. Gaytten has not actually been confirmed as John Galliano's permanent replacement - hopefully this is enough to get him through to the next round at least - I want to see MOREMOREMORE from him!

These pictures show my perfect looks from the Dior Haute Couture catwalk... See the full collection on Style.com here.
